This is actually supposed to be playable with a basic set, so the Kirin addition wouldn't work.
Just flip one of the Rooks to represent the Dragon King or Dragon Horse. Ultima does the same thing.
The BNN/BN0 move comes from one of my older games, Ryugi.
This is actually supposed to be playable with a basic set, so the Kirin addition wouldn't work.
(That said, I do plan on doing a "Greater Dragon Wars" with every kind of and variation on dragons that I can find.)
I'll investigate using BNN for the Dragon. I want to only use established Dragon pieces.
I think this is a good start, but I think there are ways to make it better.
- Having one Dragon King and Dragon Horse instead of two
- Adding a pair of Kirins in place of the second Dragon King and Dragon Horse
- Giving the Dragon a different, but still powerful, move, such as Bishop+Nightrider (BN0) (The current one can easily force mate by itself, which is usually too powerful for a chess game)
Otherwise, I think this page is good enough to be approved.
Thanks for the catch, and the info!
I might replace the Flying Dragon here with the Kirin. However, the Caissa Britannia one is both too limited (it can only reach 1/4 of the spaces on the board) and too disruptive (it can leap the line of Pawns right away) for my purposes. (That said, I'd add it if I was willing to put this on a larger board.)
I see a small typo: "Slikes" orthogonally.
The Kirin is also a sort of Dragon, although connected to the giraffe.
Another nice Dragon is Fergus's one in Caissa Britannia, AADD. Maybe an alternative for the QN (which is a Dragon only in Musketeer Chess, a mistake even in the words of its author who didn't know so much chess variants when he created his game).
Here's another one that is ready for review, and possibly publication, in record time.

I gave a bit of thought, and decided to go with your Ryu (BNN) suggestion. The Amazon Dragon (and Kirin) will have to wait for Greater Dragon Wars. :)
