The use of the prefixes Gold and Silver here has a great deal to do with that of Ryu Shogi. The Goldrider and Silverider are the direct extensions of Shogi generals to long-range moves, with the Ryu Shogi dragons a further development of these. The Goldrook and Goldmitre are partial riders of the Goldgeneral, and the Silverbishop and Silverwing of the Silvergeneral, as Shogi's Crowned linepieces and Ryu Shogi's dragons are of the Prince.
It is also odd to accuse me of having a taboo on estimating piece values on the very page where I say: 'I estimate that the Nitan is 30% stronger than the FIDE Knight and the Caman only 20%.' I also give some idea of how the partial riders compare with the Rook and Bishop, as well as the obvious consequence of a Queen losing directions.
