I was using dial-up until just a few years ago. I developed most of Game
Courier while using dial-up, and the download times for graphics generated
by Game Courier or otherwise used on this site for diagrams have not been
significant. I got broadband when I moved, and I don't want to go back,
because now I also use the internet for streaming audio and video, and
it's much easier to collect MP3s now that I don't have to leave my
computer on all night to download them. I've also switched from watching
an actual television to watching movies and television programming on my
computer. If you already have cable television, you can probably save money
by switching to broadband internet and watching television programming over
the web.
