I'm in the process of making UTF-8 the standard character encoding for the whole site. See my update to the HTML format guidelines for a mention of this. In the meantime, text written in ISO-8859-1 looks funny. I have corrected the Yáng Qà pages, and I have also corrected the links on the pages you mentioned. I also took the opportunity to enter the pinyin transliteration of my Chinese name for the Vao, something I can now do with Unicode but could not do with ISO-8859-1.
