I am looking to purchase chess pieces, but I'm looking for something I'm
having trouble finding.

I'm looking for chess pieces that are shaped like pieces I had but have
since lost. It was a really, really cheap plastic set purchased at least
30 years go. The thing I liked about the pieces was that they were not
round, they were octagon-shaped. The bases were octagon-shaped, as were
the bodies of the pieces (except the Knight.) This was not a 'themed'
set; they were perfectly normal looking pieces, and I thought the shape
made them look much nicer than the typical round pieces. Now everything I
see is round.

Does anyone know anything about this? Where to find pieces like this or
what this kind of set is called? The original set I had was an incredibly
popular cheap chess set in the '70s. I would even be interested to know
what the original set was called so I could look for one on Ebay. I
don't care that they were really, really cheap... I just like the shape
and would be happy to find another set just like it.

Thanks!
