The wells are below the board spaces c4, c5, d4 and d5, and g4, g5, h4 and h5 of the 80-square board. In Ramayana the six partial boards, with two 2x2, are in the same plane as the 16x4 board. Philosopher's Chess has one 2x2 too for the thought in the mind, and Dave's example game is 2x2.
