The undefined pieces, or "Barios," are identified by crescents.

Example of move to replace a Bario at b1 with a white Knight and subsequent move of Knight to c3: N-b1; N b1-c3.

Use the holding areas on the sides (B for Black, W for White) to place captured pieces and Barios so they do not return to the game in future cycles.
