There was MEWIS , it generally supported all the chess variants in FICS ,
plus Shatranj , Makruk, and .. emm .. I dunno .

There are also the ICC variants : Kriegspiel , TwoKings .. etc

If I developed a server , I would start with the variants supported at
SchemingMind.com ...
