Three Symbols Multi-state Chess

Rules

It is played like normal (FIDE) chess but with some different rules.

When you make a move, you must write down the 3-symbols notation of that move, and all of the possible moves according to what you wrote are valid states. Any move you make must also follow from at least one valid state. If some old states are no longer valid, use only the states in which the new move(s) are possible with (remember that check still counts as some of the valid states).

This is the description how you write the moves (check/mate, bad/good moves, etc isn't written):

  • Short castling = 0-0
  • Long castling = 000
  • Non-capturing move = uppercase letter of piece name and the square to move to (a lowercase letter and a number)
  • Capturing = uppercase letter of capturing piece, and "x", and uppercase letter of piece that is being captured.

Promotion makes all valid pieces that it can change into as valid states. For example if you promote to a queen or rook and then your opponent is check, then they can choose to not move out of check and force your pawn to promote to a bishop or knight instead.
