Play Grand Chess with Jocly

Grand Chess, created by Cristian Freeling, is played like Chess except with some additional pieces on a larger board, no castling, and a different promotion rule. Besides the usual Chess pieces, this game includes a Marshall, which starts beside the King and moves as a Rook or a Knight, and a Cardinal, which starts between the Marshall and the King's Bishop and moves as a Bishop or a Knight. Since Kings and Rooks begin on different ranks, there is no castling. A pawn may promote on any of the last three ranks (promotion being mandatory only on the last), but it may only promote to a previously captured piece (excluding pieces returned to the board through promotion). When there is no captured piece to promote to, it may not advance to the last rank, but it may still check the King on the last rank.
