Recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge do not support Java. Internet Explorer and Safari should still support it. Besides that, recent versions of Java will block this script unless you add https://www.chessvariants.com to your Java exceptions list. Turncoat Chess

If you had a Java-capable browser, you could play Turncoat Chess here.
Keys "s"=save "l"=load "b"=back once

One square is chosen at random after each move. If there is a unit, except a king, on that square, the unit changes sides.

Since this is a computer rather than a physical chess set, units can turn regardless of what is already off the board.

I decided that a unit that turns cannot capture the enemy king immediately afterwards.
