Canoness Chess

This variant adds the Cannon and Vao (here renamed Canoness) to the orthodox chess armies. This variant was inspired by Morley's Chess and variants using the Cannon and/or Vao such as Shako and Yáng Qí.

The Cannon moves like a Rook, but to capture it must jump over exactly one piece.

The Canoness moves like a Bishop, but to capture it must jump over exactly one piece.

This variant is played exactly like orthodox chess. Castling is allowed. Pawns promote on the eighth rank to any piece including Cannon or Canoness. In addition, Pawns must promote on the squares z2, z7, i2 and i7 to any piece except Queen.
