In honor of the year 2000, the 100th year of the 20th century, chessvariants.com hosted a 100 square Chess Variants contest. This was a contest between Chess Variants played on boards with exactly 100 spaces. This contest was run by Fergus Duniho. The contest ended on March 1, 2001.
