Rules

The rules are the same as orthodox chess rules, except for the following:

King's Position Rule

The King's position is a special one. Any piece that reaches the opponent's king's sqare (if that king is not on its square somehow) freezes the same pieces of opponent's. The opponent's pieces can not be moved unless that piece which has reached the King's position either moves away from that position or is captured. If a King reaches the opponent King's position then the opponent's pawns act in favour of that King (i.e. the person can now use pawns of both side in his favour as he likes until his King moves off of the opponent's King's square.

Knight Moves

The Knight moves as in orthodox chess (ie. as a 2-1 leaper), and also moves as a 2-3 leaper.

Pawn Moves

Pawns are like orthodox chess pawns, except that they are omni-directional.

Notes

It is assumed that the Knights cannot leap over the dividing wall at the center of the board. Also the author does not make clear if and how pawns promote. I would assume that they simply do not promote. [-ed.]
