Fergus Duniho wrote on 2005-02-26 UTCBy the old promotion rules, promotion happened only on the last rank, and a Pawn on its ninth rank could not check the enemy King unless it could advance and promote. By the new rules, a Pawn may promote on any of the last three ranks, and it may check the enemy King on the last rank even when it is otherwise unable to advance and promote. Except for having a different selection of pieces it may promote to, this is the same as in Grand Chess. Roberto Lavieri wrote on 2005-02-26 UTCExcellent ★★★★★What new rules are you talking about?. I have read the new promotion rule, but I`m not clear if it is identical to promotion rule in Grand Chess or not. In which rank is the promotion allowed?. Are there other new rules? 5 comments displayedLater ⇩Reverse Order⇧ EarlierPermalink to the exact comments currently displayed.
