A crossover is a game which combines elements of chess with elements of a game that is not chess. Examples include Football Chess, Cheskers (a Chess-Checkers hybrid) and Gess (a Chess-Go hybrid). What you've done is synthesize (artfully!) two games that are both varieties of chess.
