What if Shogi-like drops would be added to such game? (:

About you Super-Hecatomb-Chess idea, you could make a hyper hecatomb one, where amazons can also be used for castling.

Anyway I was making a similar variant it was like the Hyper-Hecatomb Chess that I said here on zillion of games to test. But the amazons would be only on first and second rank.
I didnt liked the results and so decided to forget it.

This is good. You can also play all pieces are one of a different type, for
example Super-Hecatomb-Chess is played with Amazons instead of Queens. I
have played Super-Hecatomb against the Java applet 'Exotic Pieces'. Or
play Extreme-Hecatomb-Chess, where the Queens are replaced with pieces can
move as queen or knight-riders, which are a kind of pieces which are too
much powerful.
