Well said, Glenn. This continues to be a fantastic site, a meaningful contribution to chess culture, and a wonderful addition to our history.

One of the recurring challenges of life, when building up any organization
to fulfill a given purpose, is to build something which will last beyond
the interest or ability of the founder to continue.

Hans has done that, and has in the process established himself as a great
modern contributor to the history of chess. Well done.

I fully understand the need to step down. Like Hans, I'm also a professor, and it is a very demanding job. Hans did a terrific job in getting this website going, and I'm sure it's in very capable hands with David and Peter.

Hans, thank you again for starting this great site. David and Peter are doing a great job and will guide the site well. Nevertheless, I am saddened by your departure as Editor-in-Chief. I look forward to seeing your future contributions as time permits. Adieu!

I'm so sorry to see this--but with my own life as busy as it is, I fully understand. Hans, thank you so very much for everything you've done in creating, maintaining, and improving the CV pages during your long tenure. And thank you for leaving the editor-in-chief position is such capable hands.

I'm sad. It's not often one creates something that develops a life of its own. Thanks, Hans.
