David Short's DOUBLE CHESS is a TERRIFIC game. It gets intense in a hurry and stays that way.

I discovered Greg Strong has made a (unofficial!?) non-rules enforcing preset for this game that can be found by going thru GC's list of 1000+ presets. That would seem to save the day for playing this variant, as this rules enforcing preset here has a bug re: castling, apparently, as I noted in a previous post.

Note I reported a bug long, long ago, in this Double Chess preset thread, which came up in a game of mine (I gave a link to that log); IIRC it had to do with legally castling not being allowed in that game of mine. I don't know if the bug was ever fixed.
