No, I mean someone like me, Greg, or Ben.

You mean something like open office?

For the present, you pass it along to an editor to upload it for you.

Aurelian Florea wrote on Tue, Oct 30, 2018 09:15 AM UTC:

How do I save an file to be included in  a preset? I know the proper location, but I have no clue how to do it.

I added a week of time for the current player of every game that was interrupted. This will not show up on the Logs page, but it will show up in Game Courier.

Greg Strong wrote on Sat, Oct 6, 2018 03:41 PM UTC:

Is there any way I can add time to a GC game that shows "out of time" but the game is not yet set to finished?  Doesn't look like it is in the sql database.  My opponent ran out of time during the week outage.

Aurelian Florea wrote on Tue, May 8, 2018 06:30 AM UTC:

I found no way to switch both elephants and knights in the janggi preset first move. Can  someone take care of that? Thanks

Greg Strong wrote on Wed, Apr 18, 2018 12:35 PM UTC:

Every time a finished game is viewed, it acts like it has just completed.  The last modified timestamp is updated and the what's new page shows it as just finished.  I think this was a patch to fix some problem with logs showing incorrect outcomes but is it still required?

@M. Winther

I understand that you had programmed the Game Courier for alpaca chess.

I had found  a bug. When castling short with the alpaca behind the king it seems that the initial a1 rook does not get deleted.

Also in a berolina chess game it seems I have the winning move but if I do it it gives an error at line 232 :)!

Aurelian Florea wrote on Wed, Mar 14, 2018 11:37 AM UTC:

A bit weird, I could eventually do it when I had tried again (after cancelling to write my previous message). Now there were FF,RR and NN options which is never correct :(!

I have noticed an error in the CWDA preset : the random unequal armies version. The game was RR vs NN and me as white with RR was trying to promote but was getting FF & NN options which is wrong. Maybe someone could take a look :)! Thanks :)!

I have been trying to sign up, but haven't received a confirmation email. My email seems to be correct and it hasn't appeared in my spam folder either.

...And the bug submission seems to be acting up

No, the "moves text box" is a form field. It is there for you to input your moves, and it does not keep track of anything. The FEN code determines the initial position of the game, which gets translated into an array, and as moves are made, this array gets updated. This array may be updated by commands within the game's code, not just by moves made by players.

wdtr2 wrote on Mon, Dec 11, 2017 12:47 AM UTC:

OK, Thanks.  Would the following be accurate:  The server keeps track of pieces via the FEN CODE, and via the "moves text box".  The moves text box is an array of movements.  If you add a piece to the board you must populate the moves text box.  for example:  P -e5.  If you don't do that the server (your computer) will not store the information.

It's hard to evaluate what is going on without seeing the whole preset.

wdtr2 wrote on Sun, Dec 10, 2017 06:40 PM UTC:

In a shogi-like game I am trying to add a copper general on the Black's 6th move and on Black's 20th move.

The built-in vaiable movenum seems to do the trick.  The result of this is the copper appears at the end of the 6th move, and appears on the board.  so far so good.  I was suprised that it appeared at the end of the move.

When White moves, all is ok, but poof Black's copper general disappears.  The adding of the Copper General does not appear in the "move list".  I can live with that.  :)

if the php program re-plays the move list between turns, this would explain my issue.

Any Advice?

Code snippet below:

// section pre-move-1
set mymove movenum;

if == 11 #mymove:
    add c |11h;
endif;

if == 40 #mymove:
    add c |11g;
endif;

What about making the mini-tournaments for 5 players on the site?

Hi Fergus

In case you missed it, the Cetran Chess 2 preset may not be working properly for some reason. A while back Carlos and I had two games going and suddenly he was unable to enter a legal move, so we agreed that he delete the 2 logs.

Perhaps what Carlos saw looked something like what the state of the following log from long ago looks like:

/play/pbm/play.php?game=Cetran+Chess+2&log=sissa-cvgameroom-2017-164-189

Yes, I reconfigured how the selection of pieces works, causing moves that were previously legal to become illegal.

@Fergus,

Hello,

Should I delete the games I have started before your corrections were  made as they now give errors out of the bat?
