This 10x8 variant looks like it could also have been (coincidentally/unintentionally, in this instance) inspired by the (mirror image, i.e. Ks and Qs switched, along with Centaurs and Manns switched) setup for 12x8 Courier-Spiel (that is, without the ferfils used, in this 10x8 variant's case). In the case of my own 10x8 variant Hannibal Chess, I kept the ferfils in the setup, instead.

OK, Fergus, I've fixed the ZIP archive file and I've added Abstract pieces as an alternate piece set. I following the Centaur and Man pages for which abstract pieces to use for the added pieces. I've also clarified the castling rule a bit.

This looks like a good game. I like the symmetry in the selection of pieces. But the zip file needs to be fixed, and this page should mention the castling rule used. The zip file has the graphics in an alfaerie/ folder instead of images/alfaerie/, which is where the ZRF expects them to be. I learned from examining the ZRF that the King moves three spaces to castle. Also, the ZRF would be improved by including a set of abstract pieces.
