just guessing, i would say pawns can promote from the 8th rank on, meaning promotion zone is final 3 ranks, so you don't have to promote on 8th etc how come this game is only a preset, i can't find any other info on it

This looks cool! But what does it mean, 'pawns are already promoted on the 8th row'. Does this mean that pawns have manditory promotion to any piece of their choosing when they reach the 8th rank? Or, since this game has a setup that looks like Grand Chess, that I pawn may optionally promote on the 8th rank, and must promote on the 10th? Any may promote to any piece, or only to a piece of his which has been captured?
