I was unaware that we prided ourselves on something that we don't do. Given that I did the 8-Stones ZRF, I might see if it can be easily modified for this game. It should go without saying that you should get Zillions of Games 2.0. You need it to play Voidrider Chess. And, as a general rule, ZRF developers like to see what they can do with the latest features of each update. To keep up with the games being made for Zillions, you need to remain updated yourself.

Well, 2.0 is worth getting because it can among other things, actually play Go. However, if you download the free update to 1.3.1 (go to the Zillions homepage, and look for 'Download Free Patch' on the upper right side of the page), that should fix most of the problems you're encountering.

by the way, I can run the basic ZILLIONS program and I have been
able to run some of the new games--- for instance, I had no problems
with Cannons and Crabs.

I also got the same type of weird error message with
Spinal Tap Chess
and there's some weird kind of 'translate' error
for Slanted Escalator Chess and Ultra Slanted Escalator Chess
which lists the escalator squares in the error message

I am running version 1.0 on Windows 2000. Is this incompatible?
Would you recommend I buy the latest version of ZILLIONS
from their web site?

David, what version of Zillions of Games are you running? Schizophrenic Chess works fine for me with Zillions 1.3.1 and Zillions 2.0 on Windows 98. Something you could try would be to find the (dummy END) statement (which is unnecessary) and delete that line.
To register, go here, and follow the directions.

btw I recently had a hard drive crash and now I have had to re-install ZILLIONS OF GAMES and I am in the process of downloading the ZRFs for all of the games which I like. I am having some difficulty with some of them. Sometimes it says that it could not load a particular .bmp file--- now sometimes I am able to get around that problem by moving the image files from the zip of the game I DLed to ZILLIONS' images/chess folder, and other times I find that I cannot do that but rather the only way I can play it is by double-clicking the zrf out of the folder I DLed and extracted the zip to. The latest error message I get, though, completely baffles me. It happens when I try to run Schizophrenic Chess. It says: LOADING ERROR-- While reading a 'dummy' statement, the following non-position was reached: 'END'
Now what the heck does that mean?! As I encounter more problems with the various ZRFs I am DLing I will post them here.
p.s. how do I sign up to become a member of this web site?

This web site prides itself on providing a ZRF file for every game which has been submitted to it. Why is it that no one has ever written a ZRF for this submission of mine from the year 2000? I would think that ZILLIONS programmers would find it fairly easy to combine the ZRFs for Doublechess and EIGHT STONES CHESS into one coherent ZRF for this game. So how about it? Who will take up the gauntlet to produce one for this game?
