When castling in orthodox Chess, the king moves to either the bishop's or knight's square (depending on which colour is playing and whether they make a long or short castle). If you believe moving 4 squares in either direction is more faithful to the original game, then by all means, you're more than welcome to play it that way. Think of this game as semi-customizable. The rules may be customized but only within the confines of orthodox chess, although I think I have covered all possibilities. For example, you can place the kings to the right of the queen instead of the left, as mentioned in the instructions.
