Interesting board shape. I'm currently not absolutely sure that bishops are quite as strong as rooks, on average.

Well darn! I designed a similar game with the exact same motivation of better equalizing diagonals with orthogonals, and now I find someone beat me to the punch. Oh well. Must be a great idea!
