The idea to create a crossover between Halma and Chess is not new. 'Schachhalma' ('Schach' is German for Chess) was described by Hajo Bücken and Dirk Hanneforth in their book 'Klassische Spiele ganz neu' which was first published in 1990. Try to find a copy. Ralf
