That is, the simultaneous moving of up to 4 pieces that have common movement type and that form a uninterrupted symmetrical structure, ie a square or a line of equidistant pieces. Thus Chess 256-which by design has no new piece types-is a perfect superset of Orthodox Chess. In other words the set of all possible games of FIDE Chess are contained in the set of all possible games of Chess 256. However the game has far more possibilities than just that. Just as Go is far more impoverished on a 9x9 board than a 19x19 board, so Chess 256 is a far richer more organic game than Chess 64.
