Not only should the general be on b4, as he took a knight on that square
in white's move 4, but also the white elephant on c5, should be on e3,
as
it was the elephant that took the first invading black rook, and the rook
shown on
 e3, should be instead on f3, where it began, for otherwise, mate would
have occured from a black knight capturing on f4(!), as was explained in
the text. Good enough textual explanation supplied by Mr. Bodlaender, but
a bad second diagram, in more ways than one!
