I don't play because I lack the knowledge and for the most part the time to make my games. (Ok, I have the time, but I can spend that playing them.)

Yes, indeed, it would. I hate staring at posts removed but still indexed. It irks me. And as to the website being dead, I think it just about is. Perhaps a design contest might intrigue ex-varianteers?

All righty. I am starting an entirely unofficial design contest for the tenth team. I will pick out the five ideas I like most out of all I get by 2014, and whoever's idea I like the absolute best will get to name the tenth world.

I thought it was one of the best battle variants I've seen.

I like it. It isn't the same at all as other wormhole variants.

I can understand that. I never am good at explaining (or creating!) rules.

Now that makes sense. You have to turn 45 degrees twice, but not in the same direction.

How could it move to the Alfil square?

Incredible idea! The only question is what should come next...

Penta War. Huge game with five clans. (17x17, Cells: 319) [All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

I like it. Two things to note.

1. Could a Queen push the last Pawn onto the last enemy pawn, which on the last rank, promoting it and tying the game?

2. You should make a fun variant with different armies for the clans.

Ziggurat. Mesopotamian-themed variant on a 43-square board. (13x5, Cells: 43) [All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

That's fine. Most of my ideas started as simple notes. I make few changes when sending them to the pages, and there may be holes.

Overly large, not every piece described, some incongruencies (ie. West and East General, also not represented.)

8/13/13: Wow. Just wow. That was harsh. Why not pursue massive sizes of game? But, still, you need to fix the lack of pieces!
