Theinternet chess club software does sometimesz not work through
corporate
firewalls. Hopefully someone will sort that one out soon. The software in
general could do with an upgrade. Certainly not pretty, but functional.
And the players on there are great (ie someone for everyone.)

For hosting your own server we offer http://www.phpchess.net. This allows
clubs, scholls and others to run their own chess server. Hosting can also
be bought. The server itself links to pda, web-enabled mobile phones
(with
browser) and will get a client for pc in January 2006.
Features include: Gameplay (realtime and tunr based, automatic
notification, player management, administration (such as player
acceptance, skinning, languages,....). The professional version does
member billing, redemption codes and more. It's realy easy to install on
most hosted servers or any corporate, or private server with mysql and
php
(all free).

you can try it on http://www.phpchess.net/phpchess
have fun!
