All these numbers, and probabilities, and lots of decimal places.

Have you noticed that the numbers are always wrong, but that they are often wrong in the same way? Rooks are always stronger than their numbers; short Rooks are always weaker than their numbers.

Maybe one of these days I'll find a fudge factor that makes it all come out right.

Meanwhile, new ideas are emerging faster than I can wite them down, so I don't have time to try to nail down the magic number of the necessary fudge factor.
