In this article I will design and formulate chess rules for what I title 10x10 Multiple Knot Chess. Accordingly, the chessboard has the form of a geometric multiple knot. The initial arrangement of pieces is illustrated on the diagram below. Two players oppose each other, one with white pieces, the other with black pieces. Pieces move according to the arrows of the diagrams. On each side there are 10 Pawns, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops, 4 Knights, 1 Queen and 1 King. Knight moves and captures like the Knight of usual chess along the cells of Multiple Knot Chess. The castlings are done like the castlings of 10x10 chess (see my article Sequence of NxN chess games).
The pawn prise en passant is still valid. At the start of the game, the pawn can either move 1 or 2 squares at a time.
The interest of the 10x10 Multiple Knot Chess is that it offers a distinct chessboard from the traditional square chessboard. Moving along the 10x10 Multiple Knot chessboard will confuse the chess player who is more accustomed to moving the pieces along the square chessboard. This will create another perception of the chess game. The other interest is the paths described by the pieces (eg. take the diagonal move of the Queen along the Multiple Knot Chess).
