A chess problem of T. R. Dawson

T. R. Dawson was probably the most important composer of fairy chess problems in the first half of the 20th century. This problem appears in his book Caissa's Wild Roses, which has been published together with four other books as Five Classics of Fairy Chess. The problem was first published in Bolton Football Field in 1911.

White mates in 21 moves.

Sorry for readers without a graphical browser: you must have one to see the problem here - but instead of getting a browser that displays gifs, you could perhaps even better get Dawsons' book.

Even if you solve the problem, you might want to look at the solution, as this contains an animated gif showing all moves in this solution.
