The mushroom was invented by Ralph Betza in 1996. The
original publication of Betza on the Mushroom piece can be found on this website. The code, in Betza's piece notation is: fbNfsLbF.
Movement
A mushroom can jump either
- forwards: one vertical and three horizontal squares; or
- forwards or backwards: two vertical and one horizontal; or
- backwards: one square diagonally.
Mushrooms take in the same way as they move without taking.
