Well, I'd put a Zebrose into a game if I could come up with a good excuse -- though probably not on a board smaller than 16x16, and definitely not smaller than 12x12.

The ‘Zebrose’ exists already in theory as Charles Gilman's ‘Bezra’ (derived from a slightly tenuous pun on Horse/Rose). It doesn't seem to have been used in any games yet though (understandably since the rose itself is already awkward enough)

I just had a weird thought: here we have the Zebra, and its relative the Zebrarider. What about a Zebrose? That would make Zebra moves in a circle. It'd be to a 12x12 board what a Rose can do on an 8x8.

Actually, there is a song they wrote called 'Who's Behind The Door' that
contains possibly the most curt, and most thought-provoking lyric ever
written:

'Looking out to the stars, think about what you are.'

And if you do think about it, it is rather profound.

I recently came across a record album for a group called Zebra. I didn't like the music, but it had great cover art of a Zebra Chess piece. Here is the image: Zebra -- No Tellin

The Zebra actually exists as the SAHNG (Elephant) in Changgi (Korean
Chess). Korean Chess greatly resembles Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) except in
two basic ways. One of these concerns the move of the Elephant.

Chinese Elephant - moves like an Alfil (but without the jumping power) -
and cannot cross the river.

Korean Elephant - moves like the Zebra described on this page - except
that it is not a leaper : there must be an unobstructed path from the
origin to the destination. Also, unlike its Chinese cousin, it is not
barred from crossing the river - as there is no river.
