EurasiaChess-White Shogi Pieces
Here is a set of
pictographic Shogi pieces I designed, inspired with :
- regular symbol
representation for orthodox chess pieces (K,R,B,N,P). Q(Gold General) as been
slightly modified.
- Silver symbol is based on moon (like Motif Shogi Silver
piece, from Fergus Duniho)
- Lance symbol is representing a oneway
arrow.
These shogi token have both chess symbols and simplified kanji
representation, in order to make it easier to:
- learn simplified kanji
-
play against a "kanji-reader" ;)
- follow recorded shogi games, often written
in kanji (or java-displayed in kanji)
Black and White(Red) Kings are
differentiated.
Promoted pieces get Gold color.
This set can be
printed in order to play "In Real Life", but I didn't have time nor received
such a request, so... maybe I'll do it later.
Here are some samples on
initial setup and playing game.
You may
use these noncommercially so long as you credit my name E.Baud and
"EurasiaChess-White" with the artwork.
